Doris Louise (Kell) Harris, 89, passed away on November 27, 2024 in Mt. Carmel, IL.
Doris was born on March 15, 1935 in Oakland City, IN, to Gerald and Hope (Brenton) Kell and grew up in Somerville, IN. She married LeRoy Harris on June 1, 1951 and they moved to Ellery, IL when LeRoy was hired to teach at Albion Grade School. They later moved to Bone Gap, IL where they lived the remainder of their lives. They were blessed with 4 children: Michael (Victoria) Harris, Dawn (David) Skillman, Kenneth (Judy) Harris, and Gary (Cindy) Harris. 8 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband LeRoy; and one brother, Lowell Dean Kell.
Doris worked as a Homemaker, beautician, teacher's aide, and Head Start Teacher. She was a volunteer in a third grade classroom at Albion Grade School for 20 years after her retirement.
