Timothy Brian Yates, 78. of West Salem, Illinois, passed away Friday, March 1, 2024 as a result of an automobile accident.
Tim was born on August 9, 1945 to Colonel C. and Bernice Yates in Olney, Illinois.
He was a member of the United States Air Force, serving his country from 1963-1967. He was a member of the Zion Church in West Salem, Illinois; the Albion American Legion; Albion VFW, and Albion Moose Lodge. He worked at Champion Laboratories in the warehouse for 36 years. He loved billiards and motorcycles - but most of all he loved to visit and make friends, of which he had many, many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brothers Phil Yates (1995) and Robert Yates (1996).
Tim is survived by his brother, John (Rory) Yates; four nephews, Michael, Danny, Landon and Logan Yates; a niece, Susan Beth; and several great nieces and nephews. The largest group of survivors were Tim's friends.
